wOMEN FREEMASONS

Alongside male Freemasonry, there is a strong and well-established tradition of Freemasonry for women in England. Women Freemasons practise the same core principles of Integrity, Friendship, Respect, and Service, and follow the same moral and ethical framework that has guided Freemasonry for centuries.

Women have been meeting as Freemasons for over 100 years, and today Freemasonry for women is governed by two independent and respected Grand Lodges: The Order of Women Freemasons (OWF) and The Honourable Fraternity of Ancient Freemasons (HFAF). Both organisations provide a structured and supportive environment that encourages personal development, lifelong friendships, and positive contributions to society.

Operating independently while sharing common aims with other branches of Freemasonry, Women Freemasons play an active role within the wider Masonic family. Their members are heavily involved in charitable, civic, and community activities, often working alongside male Freemasons, demonstrating that the values of Freemasonry remain relevant and meaningful in modern society.
