Manor of Chatham Lodge No. 4688 is a well-established and respected Lodge with a proud history within the Province of East Kent. Since its foundation in the twentieth century, the Lodge has provided a welcoming and supportive environment for Freemasons from across Medway, combining strong Masonic tradition with a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.
Meeting at the Wigmore Masonic Centre in Rainham, the Lodge is known for its commitment to high standards in the Lodge room, its enjoyment of the social side of Freemasonry, and its steady and consistent support for charitable causes. Its milestone celebrations, including its Golden and Diamond Jubilees, reflect a Lodge that has remained active, relevant, and forward-looking throughout its history.

Our regular meetings are held in the Temple and normally commence at 6:30pm.
Please note that our February meeting starts earlier, at 3:15pm.
Members customarily arrive at least 30 minutes before the published start time to allow for preparation, greetings, and the smooth conduct of Lodge business.
Following the Masonic work in the Temple, we retire to dine together, continuing the tradition of fellowship and good company. The evening’s formal proceedings are usually concluded by approximately 9:30pm.
After dining, the bar remains open until 11:30pm, providing members and guests the opportunity to continue socialising in a relaxed and convivial setting.
Manor of Chatham Lodge places great importance on the values that sit at the heart of Freemasonry — friendship, integrity, respect, and service. Members are encouraged to take an active role in ceremonies, supported by a strong and well-attended Lodge of Instruction that helps Brethren develop confidence and enjoy their progression through the Craft.
Charity is a central part of the Lodge’s identity. Like Freemasonry as a whole, Manor of Chatham contributes to both Masonic and non-Masonic causes, supporting local and national charities and playing its part in the wider charitable work of the Province. This reflects a long-standing tradition of practical help for those in need and a real connection with the local community.
The Lodge also has a warm and sociable character. Festive boards and social occasions are well supported and provide an important opportunity for members, partners, and guests to enjoy each other’s company in a relaxed and friendly setting. This strong sense of fellowship ensures that every meeting is both meaningful and enjoyable.
Visiting Brethren are always assured of a very warm welcome and will find a Lodge that values participation, tradition, and genuine friendship.
For those seeking a welcoming and traditional Masonic experience in Rainham and Medway, Manor of Chatham Lodge offers friendship, continuity, and a genuine sense of belonging.
